Do you own a new Cha
llenger?
What a fantastic looking car!
Unfortunately, I am yet to drive one. (was the timing bad on the release of this car, or what?) However, I’d be very interested in hearing what you think of it. Please add a little bit about what mopars you’ve owned before and how the new Challenger “feels” in comparison. Which model do you own?

Hello, I dont own a new Challenger, but I did have a chance to drive one, an R/T. To compare it to a 70’s Challenger is difficult. It feels like a new car, of course with better seats, quieter interior, etc, but you still feel like you are driving a 60’s musclecar, because of how it looks. The motor makes good power and it handles much nicer than an older one of course. Its a great car and if times were better (like you said) I’d be buying one. In fact, I told myself when I first heard of it, that I’d “be first in line.” Hopefully, Chrysler can survive this storm, and keep producing the car, because I think it is awesome. All that said, there is still nothing like the feel, smell and fun factor of a 60-70’s musclecar.

All I can tell you is the Dodge Challenger is a super classic. Lots of memories were made in one during High School is why.
Question? This site is awesome. I’m suprised more people haven’t stumbled on it yet. Let’s get the word out and start car shop talk!

I purchased a brand new 71 Challenger R/T 340 when returning home from Vietnam in early 71 . Was a great car . But sold it before getting married in late 72 . So I just had to have one of the new R/T Challenger. I purchased one of the first Challenger R/T 6 speed’s that was in my area. And love it . It is Black with Silver hood to fender stripe’s and 20 inch wheel’s . At age 60 I feel young when I drive it .

I’ve got the best of both. I have a 1970 440 six-pack Challenger R/T 4-speed, with 35,000 org. miles. I just bought a 2009 SRT-8 Challenger, 6-Speed. My wife and I attend cruise-inns with both cars. People like both, and like to compare them.
